Following a significant defeat at the hands of our courageous forces, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), its allied mercenary groups, and its terrorist militias linked to the former regime have resorted to an alternative strategy in implementing their scorched-earth policy in this war: destroying vital public facilities.

Earlier this Sunday, SAF warplanes dropped barrel bombs on the Gaili Oil Refinery, north of Bahri in Khartoum State, severely damaging crude oil transport lines and burning and sabotaging facilities within the refinery.

The systematic destruction and sabotage of vital public facilities and infrastructure by the SAF and its extremist patrons from the former regime reveal their extreme desperation and frustration in the face of numerous successive defeats, the latest being their retreat in the Battle of South Shendi yesterday.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemns the barbaric actions of the SAF and its terror-driven associates from the National Congress Party, who persist in violating international law and the Geneva Conventions. We call upon the international and regional community to condemn their horrid crimes against innocent civilians. If their destructive practices continue, we will be forced to halt the flow of crude oil.

Our valiant RSF soldiers remain steadfastly committed and determined to liberating the people of Sudan from the clutches of the corrupt and abusive former regime. We will continue our tireless fight to rebuild the Sudanese state on foundations of peace, justice, democracy, and equality for all, without discrimination.
